CALL for NOMINATIONS: 2017-2018 Officer & Board of Manager (BOM) Positions

The Raleigh Section is looking for members interested in helping organize the Section.

This is a perfect chance to gain leadership experience, impress potential employers, network with colleagues, and gain better insight into the greater lighting industry.


If you are interested in serving as President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary or one of the other 8 Board of Manager postions please contact


The Officers and Board are a collaborative group that share the following responsibilities.

No member is responsible for everything and there should always be many hands to make light work.

  • Organizing at least 7 educational / community service / social / networking events

  • Setting up AV equipment for events

  • Recording event attenance and issuing attendance certificates

  • Organzing the annual IES Raleigh Tradeshow

  • Interfacing with IES national

  • Handling IES Raleigh section finances

  • Communicating important information with the section membership including invitations to events

  • Attending monthly board of managers meeting

  • Collaborating with the board via email, phone and ad-hoc meetings

  • Manage IES Raleigh social media and website presence

  • Interface with local education institutions and organizations

  • Promote IES Illumination Awards and Solicit judging volunteers

  • Promote new membership

  • Promote the IES Raleigh Section and IES National goals
